If I had my dentures re-done, would they look better?

I had dentures done. A full set. I had a disaster for a mouth and I’m the first to agree my smile was pretty ugly. I know I should be happy with the dentures, but to me they’re obviously fake looking. My dentist keeps telling me that I should be happy, they’re much nicer than my old teeth. And he’s right. But, each of these teeth look completely uniform and square to me.  My other teeth had different shapes and sizes.  I’d rather have an unattractive smile than for people to know my teeth are fake. If I paid to have them re-done, would it get any better or am I wasting my time and money?

Lexi,

Yes. You can definitely can get dentures that look natural. In fact, they can look downright gorgeous if you want. No one has to know that they’re not your natural teeth.

The trick is getting them done by the right cosmetic dentist. You need someone with not only the technical skill, but the artistry. That’s not something a dentist will get in general dentistry school. It takes post-graduate training and effort.

If I were in your position, I’d go to the mynewsmile.com website. They recommend only the best cosmetic dentists in each area. If I were a betting person, I’d wager your current dentist is not on their list.

Whomever they recommend, will give you a gorgeous smile. You can’t buy your way onto the list. You have to demonstrate both technical skill and artistic proficiency.
